A brand new website for Royal Greenwich

We’re very proud to announce the launch of our latest project, a brand new website for Royal Greenwich District Scouts!

Royal Greenwich Scouts is one of five borough-based Scout Districts which together, make-up South London Scouts (the Scout County of Greater London South). Boasting over 26 Scout Groups based throughout the London Borough of Greenwich, most Groups are made up of Beaver Scout Colonies, Cub Scout Packs, and Scout Troops.

With the aim of offering challenge and adventure to all of their members, Royal Greenwich believe in helping young people fulfil their potential by working in teams, learning by doing and thinking for themselves. We were approached by the district scout group to create a website that both reflected and facilitated this belief.

The brief

Royal Greenwich District Scouts approached us with the task of overhauling their online presence by creating a brand new, bespoke website. Offering a space where members could find the latest news and information, whilst simultaneously directing people to their relevant districts – the website needed a brand new design that encouraged user interaction and maintained a positive user experience.

The build

The new website has been built from the ground up in the WordPress content management system and features an array of bespoke functionality and features including:

• A bespoke homepage design
• NAN (Nights Away Notification) form
• Upcoming events area for district-wide events
• Individual, complex campsite booking forms
• Dedicated volunteers form
• Latest News posts from around the district
• ‘Find your nearest group’ feature

The new website is fully responsive and contains a huge amount of information on joining, volunteering, activity centres, and resources if you’re already a young member or adult volunteer. You can take a look at the new website, here.
